I haven't posted that many EPs on this page cos, well, I mean the word "Album" is in the name, right? But I felt like it so here are 5 rather great EPs, spanning folk-pop, indie-folk, bedroom-pop, pop punk, and melodic punk. Here we go!
End States - Errata EP
Opener "Operating Instructions" starts with the most gorgeous acoustic guitar intro that I wish would carry on forever. But it doesn't, and the sodding vocals kick in (I'm kidding, the vocals are actually quite lovely). Anyway, that intro alone makes this EP worth downloading, but there is more good stuff over the 6 songs here from this folk-pop band from Sunderland.
Formed in order to put out music that didn't fit the style of members' other bands, they ended up with something rather special.

Radical Face - Therapy EP
I posted an old Radical Face album before, but here's a more recent EP; one that was written following Ben seeking help after suffering "panic attacks in public and waking up not knowing where [he] was". As mentioned previously I am a big fan of his songwriting, and this EP is no exception. It is, however, a slight departure from his usual style, possibly a reflection of the subject matter, with more of a pop / less of a folk feel for the most part. The "Alternate Reality" version somewhat addresses this; these renditions are slightly less polished, and are in a different running order. Either way, it's a wonderful EP, full of beautiful, touching, and hopeful moments.

Unison - Semioat EP
Stereochemical is a trans-owned label for trans artists that launched a year ago, with the superb bedroom pop of Unison being the first (and so far only) release. These spartan two minute pop songs are a joy; catchy tunes and insightful and intelligent lyrics make for a heady combination, especially when matched with simply charming vocals, and I am very keen to hear more.

Sedatives - S/T EP
The Sedatives were a Canadian punk band par excellence, and spawned Steve Adamyk Band among others. This, their self-titled EP, is outstanding. Three of the songs here would go on to be on the self-titled LP, but for my money this is the better release, mainly cos each song here is an absolute belter. The Teenage Runaway EP and Human Beings EP are also well worth checking out.

Atlantic City - Forest EP
This EP is included mainly for "Trustworthy Branch" which, despite the slightly cheesy intro, is one of my favourite songs, with its killer riff and it being uplifting as hell. Still, the EP is far from a one track pony (see what I did there?), with three other great melodic punk songs (and one rather silly 30 second outro), and whoas aplenty.
