Although I was aware of one of Brandon Hamilton's projects (specifically Dude Jams, from their splits with Pure Graft, Rumspringer, and Jonesin'), I hadn't heard of Prince before (well, y'know, not THIS Prince anyway), and I've really enjoyed delving into this discography collection, the release of which was sadly brought forward following Brandon's passing.
Kicking off with the ridiculously catchy duo of "How Ya Been Feelin" and "More Of This" from the band's 2016 split with Dan Padilla, the record careens through 18 more tracks of top-notch garage pop punk / rock, taking in the band's 2013, 2014, and 2016 self-titled EPs, plus their 2015 demo and a few other songs from where I'm not quite sure, and closes out nicely with an acoustic (and quite poignant) version of the opening track entitled "How Ya Been Drunk".
It flows pretty well for a discography, with enough variety, hooks, and heart to show that a proper full-length wouldn't have gone amiss. As it is, I'm grateful we have this release that gathers up all these killer tunes into one place that I otherwise might have missed out on. Dive right in, crank up the volume, and enjoy.
