This is the 2018 remastered reissue of LVL UP's 2011 debut, put out on their own (well, members Dave Benton and Mike Caridi's) Double Whammy Records, with a ton of b-sides and demos and whatnot, and released a few months before the band called it a day.
Full of mostly lo-fi indie-rock/pop, with a few punkier blasts thrown in for good measure, it's a slightly unhinged yet grounded record, reminiscent of early Number One Cup in feel if not exact sound, with upbeat jangle-pop moments and sullen brooding dirges and most everything in-between.
The bonus tracks keep the party going, basically forming a second odds 'n' ends record that nicely mixes studio recordings and acoustic demos, flows pretty well for this kind of offering, and very much justifies its inclusion.
Well worth diving into.
