It may officially be a week or so away, but it sure feels like summer in southern Spain (37°C recently), so here's a summery indie pop album!
Emerald Park are from Sweden, and fit nicely into the echelons of Scandinavian pop, with complementary soft boy/girl vocals and catchy tunes mostly carried by rhythm guitar, light touches of electronica, or a prominent bass line.
Exceptions come in the form of "Pasadena" and "Ambivalence" which both dial the electronica right up, but whilst the former remains a delicate pop song, the latter is an experimental interlude with the addition of dirge guitar and looped vocals.
Interludes aside, "For Tomorrow" is full of songs that wouldn't feel out of place played on commercial radio, a music chart show, or indeed performed at a large multi-day festival, and as an album should probably be filed under "(somewhat) undiscovered gem".
