Spraydog - Blink Between Grey and Green: Singles 1999-2005

I've mentioned Spraydog a few times before, and indeed posted about their wonderful "Run the Lights" EP in one of the singles/EPs posts. This singles collection was released this month, and compiles six singles and one EP put out between 1997 (despite the comp's title) and 2005, with some tracks having had to be ripped direct from the vinyl.

You get the "Starry Eyes", "Melter Twine", "These People", "Dialling Mitt", "You Are What I Love" and "Allison Blaire" seven inches, as well as the "Girls Know Girls" EP, but the songs aren't in chronological or even release order, instead having been jumbled up, I presume to affect some semblance of an album proper.

Musically we're still talking melodic distorted indie-rock, with great dual vocals and subtly catchy tunes. My favourite song here is "Slug Knacker", a b-side from the "Starry Eyes" single, which is a chilled yet vital number with creamy vocals and an understated vibrancy. There is definitely a lot of good stuff to explore here.

LIke their other records on Bandcamp, proceeds are going to the If U Care Share Foundation, which provides "prevention, intervention training & support of those affected by suicide", so should you want to purchase their stuff maybe hang on 'til Bandcamp Friday on 2nd April; that way more of your money will be passed on.
