Four EPs in lieu of an album, covering indie, punk, dream-pop, and punked-up folk / singer-songwriter. Let's dive right in.
Spraydog - Run the Lights EP
I've referenced Newcastle's Spraydog a couple of times, so thought it best I post something by them. I picked this up when it saw them live at The Portland in Cambridge about 20 years ago maybe? It's still a cracking EP. Melodic, full of distortion, dual vocals, and catchy as. Proceeds from any bandcamp sales are going to the If U Care Share Foundation, which provides "prevention, intervention training & support of those affected by suicide".

Jeff Rosenstock - DUMP 2020
I've posted a few Jeff Rosenstock records on this page, for which I make no apology - here is his latest release, which could well be an album by the time you read this, but for the moment it just about counts as an EP. Released mid-September with 4 songs, a Belle & Sebastian cover was added later that month, and then another new song was added just yesterday. "Dept of Finance" is the song that hits the hardest given how 2020 has been for most, but there's also a proper ska song and a Neil Young-style number in there amongst others. Proceeds from this are also going to charity.

Tiny Fireflies - S/T EP
Coming via the charming EardrumsPop netlabel (who had a hand in encouraging them to continue), Tiny Fireflies is the collaboration between Kristine from Tiny Microphone and Lisle from Fireflies (and they also play together in Very Truly Yours). They make ridiculously beautiful indie-pop / dream-pop, and this EP is something very special.
Kelly Kemp & Bangers / El Morgan & The Arteries - Split 7"
Singer-songwriters Kelly Kemp and El Morgan (who were in Livers and Lungs and would later be in Dear Everyone together) front punk bands Bangers and The Arteries respectively for this split, with rather spectacular results. Whilst I was familiar with the artists individually, I'd not heard the songs from Kelly Kemp & Bangers before, but they're excellent. On the other side, El Morgan & The Arteries rework two El Morgan originals, including a mind-blowingly good version of "Ballroom". Such a great split.
