2017 was a rather prolific year for Halifax, Nova Scotias' Booji Boys, who released two great LPs that year (not to mention an EP as well). But as good as those were, the band really outdid themselves with this, their 2019 full-length.
Full of boisterous, scuzzy and distorted punk nuggets, "Tube Reducer" finds a band on top form racing through banger after banger. Melody comes primarily from the guitars, although the half-yelled half-sang vocals also carry some of it, and both do so through layers of fuzzy distortion.
With the band brimming with confidence, and the tunes coming thick and fast, this is one hell of a ride.
