Awesome gothic/dark punk from Lyon.
A combination of goth and punk isn't something I think I've really come across before, but after hearing the appropriately named Bleakness I gotta say it works really well.
Mixing in hardcore, post-punk, and a heavy dose of pensive, gloomy '80s melodicism, including piano and cello on the opening and closing tracks and a rather subtle guitar-solo-like saxophone on "Over and Over", the band have come up with a pretty strong debut full-length.
It's still first and foremost a punk album, reminding me at times of "peace-punk" in its slightly rough production and tone, and I can't imagine the goth purists will come running, but they may take pause for a moment...
