Beat Noir were a dark pop / emo punk / alternative rock band from Greater Toronto, and this is their debut from 2013. They went on to release a second record in 2016 before calling it a day.
"Ecotone" is a pretty varied record, front loaded with the more memorable tracks, although conversely you'll find the stronger songs on the second half of the album. It's almost like they got the poppier stuff like "Nicky Driscoll" (which I really like) out of the way first, and then relaxed and just did their thing.
If you like your punk with a huge dollop of alt rock you're gonna love this.
