This record was taken down cos people wanted to pay for it, so now that's it back up, whatever you do, DON'T PAY FOR IT* - we want it to stay up this time, as it's great!
Swindon's Squarehead were active in the early '90s, and recorded two demos, played about 30 gigs, then broke up. Fast forward to 2014 and the demos resurfaced on YouTube, coming to the attention of Neal Shah from the blog But I'd Rather Be Sleeping four years later, who then via a post in the Leatherface Facebook group made contact with guitarist Mick Dixon who ended up putting it on Bandcamp.
So, why did a blogger and a Facebook group of punks get so excited about a couple of 25-year-old demos? Well, Squarehead played the kind of punk reminiscent of China Drum, Hooton 3 Car, and Leatherface. I also get a bit of a Buffalo Tom vibe from time to time, but maybe that's just me.
As a record this is an unexpected and very welcome addition to the pantheon of UK punk.
