Black Koala is the recent collaboration of Raashan Ahmad, who's wonderful "The Sun" record was previously posted on this very page, and Rita J., whose work I was hitherto unfamiliar with.
Now, I'm hardly a hip-hop aficionado, and don't listen to much of it, but I've got a lot of time for Raashan Ahmad's stuff, and this record is no exception. Musically this is hip-hop to relax to, with raps primarily about life's struggles and excesses. There's a major jazz vibe, and a soulful gentle feel to the whole affair.
On a side note, I did a double take when I first listened to "I Want To"; I was NOT expecting an American rapper to come out with the Briticism "a bunch of wankers"!
At any rate this is a great chilled hip-hop record.
