Self-described as "a queer noisy pop band", Wolf Girl played jangle and fuzz guitar pop until they broke up last year; this is their most recent release from 2018.
And it's a great pop record of catchy tunes and fab vocals, with charming lyrics a bit on the anxious side, and with welcome plays on words, not to mention fun references to blink-182 & Your Heart Breaks.
At times I get a huge Sleeper-vibe listening to this, albeit with more attitude and distortion; indeed on a few tracks the band rock out enough that their "pop hat" slips slightly, but it just about stays on. When all is said and done, "noisy pop" probably does about cover it...
