Michael Cantor of The Ambulars and The Goodbye Party and Sam Cook-Parrott of Radiator Hospital collaborated together under the moniker The Afterglows, and produced this self-titled release.
And it's just timeless.
The album is reminiscent of days gone by, yet isn't derivative, instead garnering that sense from its distillation of melancholy and sorrow into song, and doing so in such a way that's reassuring rather than morose.
This is a record for the quiet moments, for headphones, for candle light, for holding hands, or for being around the embers of the fire at the end of the night.
