The 2010 debut (and as far as I know sole) full-length from Arizona's Hello The Mind Control is a wonderful collection of warm tuneful orchestral pop / folk / country / indie.
The sound here is both intimate and grand; strings are prominent (indeed there's even a song called "Strings"), as is brass, but they're mostly used to embellish as opposed to being the primary focus.
There's a pretty down-to-earth and positive vibe throughout, and the record is full of quality songwriting, although I would be remiss not to give special mention to "This Old Tree", a song that genuinely should be part of the wider consciousness.
