This is the remastered re-release of "Discardography" from Long Island's Warm Needles, which was itself a remastered collection of their songs from split 7-inches with Pretty Bullshit and Costanza, plus their "Pretty Tambo" EP, with some compilation tracks and one from their demo thrown in for good measure.
Before we get to that though, we've gotta talk about the packaging!
Bargain bins were plundered, and stickers applied, so every cover is different (I've used the one from my personal copy for this post), and the original record is included as well, which I think is pretty fun. It's been released on a few different labels including Different Kitchen Records, who are local to me, a great label, and also a killer distro, and are well worth checking out if you're in the UK.
So, what about the music? Warm Needles are a melodic hardcore band not so dissimilar to other Long Island melodic hardcore bands; if you like Iron Chic or the plethora of related acts, chances are you'll enjoy what you hear here. There are plenty of hooks and catchy choruses and, whilst compilations like this can often struggle as a cohesive listen there are no such problems here. A solid punk record.
