Named for the settlement in County Kilkenny, Dublin-based Irish/Polish band Burnchurch formed out of the ashes of acts like Silence, Rats Blood, and Easpa Measa, and put out this album of melodic crust punk five years ago now.
Dual gal/guy vehemently coarse vocals traverse twin guitars that bounce between hardcore, melodic hardcore, and a lil metal, all played at full pelt. At times it's a frantic aural assault, but there are moments to pause dotted around the record provided by that wonderful twin guitar sound.
I'm not too sure Burnchurch are still active, but given their website is down and their FB page hasn't posted anything for 3 years, it seems doubtful. Whatever the case, if you like your music heavy but melodic, and fast, this is definitely worth checking out.
