Jamie 4 President is the indie pop side project of Jamie R Green (the 'R' is for ROCK*) from Wild Animals, and whilst a 4th album ("Consolation Prize") was only released late last year, I'm posting their debut from 2013 cos, once again, it's my favourite, and it's my page. Ooh, drunk with power.
And what a debut it was, full of sparkly, melodic, smooth, creamy (ok, maybe not creamy), catchy indie-pop gems, with gentle, comforting vocals, and mature songwriting (in a good way).
As an album it's uplifting, despondent, heart warming, and a little silly in places, without a hint of filler (ok, maybe "New Mona Lisa" is a bit long in the tooth, but apart from that), and one that is always a pleasure to return to.
*Yeah, it might not be, I made that up. But it could be...
