𝗕𝗲𝗱𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 - 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗻𝘀

It's St. George's Day today, so I'm posting a Welsh band. Yay nationalism! Bedford Falls are a Power Pop / Alternative band playing music not too dissimilar to Dinosaur Jr. or Buffalo Tom; guitar walls-of-sound abound, tempered by melodicism and heart.

Elegant Balloons is their second album from 2012, and features the backing vocals (and lead on "Annabella") of Katie Gatt, which are usually pretty low in the mix, but add another layer to the sound. And a big sound it is. And over the 12 tracks here there's no filler, no extraneous exposition, no hint of pretension or self-gratification, no 6 minute deluge of guitar noodling; everything is tight, intentional, and concise, leading to a cohesive and remarkably enjoyable effort.
