Post left up for posterity
Originally released on BYO Records on CD, Boss Tuneage Records recently gave this a reissue on vinyl with Brassneck Records, so I get to include it in this small series of posts to celebrate their 30th birthday.
Four Letter Word were one of Wales' seminal punk / hardcore acts, signed by a "big" US label, touring over there, and being forced to legally protect their name from some major label boy band called "4 Letr Word", if memory serves. Recorded by Frankie Stubbs of Leatherface (as to be fair were most of their albums) this, their second full-length, was probably released with the band at their peak, before BYO let them go to avoid being dragged into their legal dispute. Through a seemingly constant rotation of personnel, with frontman Welly being the sole constant, the band would go on to release several EPs and a further two albums, the last of which was also released by Aston, before winding down in 2011. Fortunately, their entire output is up on Bandcamp as a testament to their achievements, including this classic.
