It's Boss Tuneage Records' 30th anniversary, and so I'm gonna post some of their albums this week to celebrate, starting with one by this lot.
Scarper! were from Hull and played punk with trumpets and were a lot of fun, and this is a cracker of an album. Singalong anthem "Group Think" (which was covered by tour and label mates The Unknown) highlights their irreverent side, "Eight Million Ways to Die" shows they could tug at your heartstrings if they wanted, and "Whispering" is proof if you needed it that they could write a banger, but it's all good. What I really love about this album though is its tone; it's light-hearted, yet very sincere. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 / 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺: https://scarper.bandcamp.com/album/every-turn
