Punk rock, emphasis on the rock here, which probably has more in common with Bruce Springsteen than any 3-chord song-smiths. Saxophone and guitar solos abound, with great backing vocals, and fully developed not to mention dance-able and sing-a-long-able tunes. It all leads to a well-rounded and truly enjoyable record.
From the saxophone blasts in opener "Coming Alive" through the memorable motif of "Stories", the Thin Lizzy-esque "Geysers", the guitar interplay and beautiful backing vocals in "Little Song", all the way to the 8 minute album closer "Spring, 2008, Detroit.", there really is enough to come back to again and again.
A genuinely great record that 10 years on still deserves a larger audience.
